As we've mentioned in previous newsletters, Logic is a proud sponsor of FutureMidwest, the Midwest's largest digital technology conference.  We will present The Mobile App Experience, an interactive discovery area in which you can use different applications we've built to gain a better understanding of how mobile technology can benefit your business.

Throughout the conference, we will offer 15-minute special topics sessions that are designed to give you a quick and meaningful education on specific areas of mobile development.  The topics are:

  Logical Additions

Prior to joining Logic, Carl McKissack worked for Humantech as a Systems Administrator.  We are so pleased that he brings his expertise to our IT department, and can tell you that we already have him incredibly busy on projects.

Carl is pursuing a Bachelor of Arts in Japanese Language in Culture.  In his free time he enjoys photography, bicycling, and snowboarding.  Carl, his wife Deedra, and their 2-year-old daughter Morgan live in Ypsilanti.

As part of our ongoing commitment to cross-cultural knowledge sharing, Software Engineers Gang Zhu (from our Nanjing office) and Roy Zhou (Shanghai) have been visiting our U.S. locations.

Gang spent his first weeks here in California, at our Irvine location.  He arrived in Ann Arbor, to a much chillier climate, this past weekend, and is blessing us with his mobile development expertise on several projects and our FutureMidwest presence.

Roy has been at a client site in San Antonio, Texas since February.  He, too, returned to spring in Michigan after a stint in the South, but is getting along very well at our headquarters.

We're so thrilled to have Roy and Gang visiting!

  Transformational Technology

schoolpicturesIn the first six years of existence, SchoolPictures.com has contributed more than $3 Million to Michigan schools through its unprecedented business model for executing a stress-free school portrait day.  SchoolPictures.com is the newest division of a 34-year-old special events photography firm that works closely with Michigan schools and has photographed more than 3 million Michigan students!

Following the success of the model in Michigan, in 2010 SchoolPictures.com began to offer its unique expertise to other photographic partners throughout the country, so they too can use the philanthropic business model to benefit their own local schools.

In order to achieve a successful expansion, SchoolPictures.com needed a modernized website with an enhanced look as well as highly improved functionality.

Logic's creative experts worked with the client's marketing team to design a beautiful interface, complete with an interactive slideshow on the homepage that visually demonstrates why SchoolPictures.com is the nation's fastest-growing school picture company.  We also created a scrolling banner that provides links to critical information for prospective customers.

Administrators at SchoolPictures.com can update graphics and text easily through a DotNetNuke contact management system interface.  Information is stored in a SQL database on the backend.

Our relationship with SchoolPictures.com has grown strong since our introduction a year ago, and we will announce further projects with this pioneering company in the future.

  We're Everywhere

kujava_lsamag_bwHave you heard that Angela is now Ann Arbor.com's Mobile Diva?  Her first article "Why aren't businesses adopting mobile apps as fast as consumers" discusses the ascendancy of mobile technology, and reasons why businesses are hesitant to commit—and why they shouldn't be.  The article was featured on Ann Arbor.com's website on Thursday, April 14 and run again in the Sunday print edition.

The Mobile Diva also visited WJR 760's Internet Advisor radio show on April 23 to discuss mobile apps.  You can listen to the podcast on www.internetadvisor.net.  She appears about halfway through the first hour.

In addition, Doug was a featured speaker at Mobile Monday Detroit, where he gave a presentation on how the health care industry is going mobile.  He would be happy to provide a repeat performance for your organization.  Just drop us a line!
