Referred to Logic by a mutual friend, VANGUARD® is a global manufacturer of tripods, camera bags and cases, gunpods, gun/bow cases, binoculars and spotting scopes with first-of-the-kind features and capabilities. With 23 years of expertise, the company is hailed around the world for its innovative products.
VANGUARD®’s need for sophisticated web applications, multi-lingual sites, and eCommerce components made them a perfect fit for Logic’s expertise. The website development work is taking place in phases, with a dedicated team of two-three staff. The first phase has involved redesigning the dealer/distributor website. This site contains a product catalog that we’ve created using VirtuMart, available in the Joomla eCommerce package. Product information is dramatically enhanced with 360-degree and zoom views, videos and more concise descriptions.
We have also incorporated a content management system, which allows VANGUARD® staff to make changes directly, and static pages are also created in Joomla. Other new features include a “Where to Buy” module, by which users can search by state or product category; a press release module; static “Contact us” form; newsletter subscription form; and dealer and distributor VIP centers that contains high resolution photos and sensitive pricing data available only with password login.
Now photographers and outdoor enthusiasts can get closer than ever to VANGUARD products. With the upgraded web site’s enhanced functionality and thorough presentation of accessories, the changes amount to a lot more than a simple facelift. The site is easy to navigate and loaded with impressive features that enable them to more effectively interact with their customers around the world.
Phase two will include updates to phase one work, with a WordPress blog integrated with Joomla featuring expert how-to articles and interviews with industry celebrities. However, the major undertaking involves rebuilding the U.S. Dealer center into two parts: the PV Dealer Center (Photo/Video) and OS Dealer Center (Outdoor/Sporting). The public site will also be separated into two different websites; one for photography customers, and one for hunting/sporting enthusiasts.
In phase three we will replicate these sites into every dealer country (there are 78!), beginning with France, Germany, and Japan.
